If you are told by an insurance company that a collision repair shop is not on “their list”, you can be assured that shop has your best interest in mind.
To be on “the list” a shop needs to sign a contract with the insurance company to repair the vehicle as the insurance company dictates. Insurance companies may demand discounted labor rates, parts discounts, and that the shop installs aftermarket, rebuilt, and junk yard parts on your vehicle.
Insurance companies do not want body shops to tell you about this and the shops on “the list” will not.
We are more than happy to discuss a proper repair with any insurance company. It is the vehicle owner that we are here to serve. We look out for you and your best interest, not the insurance company's pocketbook.
The choice of body shops is yours- it is your vehicle- not the insurance company's.
